Cut Loose, Footloose
I woke up this morning to my bedroom light turned on. The first thought that went through my head was that I was late for work and I slept through my alarm. (nobody is usually up before me!). But, it was only 5am and I didnt have to drive to Delta today - that meant that I still had 50 more minutes to sleep. I do love those mornings when I get to go back to sleep; unfortunately, they usually happen at least every other day, which takes away from the novelty of it all. But my wonderful sister had gotten up to get ready for work and felt that the light needed to stay on until she left for work. This was where my nifty eye mask saved the day! Them things are pretty much amazing. Just some fabric, and an elastic... keeps all the light out!
So when I finally did wake up, I realized that it was raining. For the love of cheeseburgers! That meant that I had to really suit up properly this time for work. From head to toe I had at least two - five layers on. Then I headed to my car and found my rain gear, which was to be the next layer. I havent really had to use my rain gear yet, except this one time that it sprinkled a bit and I was being cautious. When I finally got to the worksite, I was early as usual and so I sat and read my devotion for the morning.
Working in the rain sucks. Bottom line. I was cold and wet and a little grump. But I wasnt alone! Today I had a partner to work with, and we were only in the rain for a few hours, then we got to sit in the work truck for a few hours and wait for the guys to do the second part of the job. Waiting was nice - had the heat cranked and I tried my best to dry out my supposedly 'waterproof' boots! haha After the guys were ready to go again, we set out on the road and stopped traffic, as per usual.
Those couple hours this afternoon were the worst, it rained three times as hard, and there was a strong wind. I kept getting hit in the head with my own sign! But the job didnt last forever, and I thought I would have an early day. Nope. Thankfully I got some more hours in to move the company truck back to the yard! yes! What a beautiful drive that was. Its one of the new trucks 2007 Ford F150... smoothe ride. Much nicer than my Tercell, and I was paid to do it. The only way this job could get better was if It didnt rain!
Before I went home, my partner gave me a pair of orange overalls to wear at work! im pretty stoked for them cuz they are very reflective and probably the hottest [said with sarcasm] pants ive ever worn! haha (Pictures will come when I get around to it). Im sure you've seen people wearing them on work sites before. But they are awesome. I wore them on the way home from Langley cuz my clothes were all soaked from my raingear that apparently leaks!
Tonight I slept for a few hours and it cost me 11 big ones!.. Apparently I like to talk when im half asleep (and yes I remember it).. and I asked my older sister if she watned me to buy her ice cream when I went to pick up my little sister from church. HAHA oh geeze, I remembered talking about ice cream when I woke up, so I asked her about it, and well I cant take it back after I offered. So I bought ice cream for everyone. That was worth 1/3 of a tank of gas... dang.
Well Im gonna go sleep again, cuz that is all I ever acutally do! My final thoughts are this: I cant believe you acutally sit hear and spend precious minutes of your life reading my thoughts!
